At Maine Veterans’ Home, we believe it is a privilege and our responsibility to provide care and support for those who honorably served our country, as well as for their families. Created by the Maine Legislature in 1977 to provide long term care services to Maine’s Veterans and eligible family members, we continue today to operate as an independent, nonprofit organization.

We opened our first home in Augusta in 1983. Since then, we have established locations in Caribou, Scarborough, South Paris, Bangor and Machias.
