ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMEBERS:

Applicants must be a Maryland resident, have been discharged under honorable conditions from the Armed Forces of the United States at any time,be age 62 or older or incapable of earning a living due to disability recognized by the VA or Social Security. Some non-veteran spouses of veterans eligible for admission may also be eligible.

Structure & Governing board

Charlotte Hall Veterans Home is a program of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA). The Maryland Veterans Home Commission provides additional oversight, and acts as an advisory body to the Secretary, MDVA. The eleven Commission members are appointed to five year terms by the Governor and confirmed by the State Legislature. The Home is operated by a private contractor, under the oversight of the State’s Director of the Home, an employee of the MDVA.
