In coordination with veterans groups throughout the State and in partnership with the Federal and State government, Hawaii Health System Corporation is in the process of designing/building the first State Veterans Home in Hawaii on the grounds of the Hilo Medical Center. The demolition of old buildings clearing the way for the new Home is currently underway. This new $28 million, 95-bed facility will be open for all State veterans and will include an adult day health capacity of approximately 35 veterans per day. We look forward to the projected opening of the facility in late 2006/early 2007.
