ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMEBERS:

To be eligible for admission, an applicant must be a California resident at the time of application, a veteran with a discharge other than dishonorable from the United States Military, and is aged, or disabled, or homeless.
Aged” is considered to be 55 or over.
Spouses and Gold Star parents may also be eligible. Applicants must require independent, assisted living, or skilled nursing care as determined by a physician. Fees are based on level of care.
Home members are expected to provide their own clothing and personal items.

Application Process

Applications for admission to the Veterans Home are available at the Veterans Home of California – Chula Vista, 700 East Naples Court, Chula Vista, CA 91911, or through any California County Veterans Service Office. Applications may also be obtained by telephone toll free 1-800-857-2146.

Structure & Governing board

The Veterans Home of California – Chula Vista is an agency of the California Department of Veterans Affairs. The governing body is made up of the Secretary of California Department of Veterans Affairs, the Undersecretary and Deputy Secretaries of the Department, and the Administrator of the Home.
