Thanks for visiting the official webpage of the National Association of State Veterans Homes (NASVH). With more than 175 State Veterans Homes (SVHs) across the nation – located in every State and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico – SVHs are proudly providing the lion’s share of long-term care to those men and women who’ve worn the uniform of our United States. It is, indeed, critically important work, and at NASVH we’re proud of our work and impact, and we’re grateful for the privilege to serve the SVHs that serve such incredible people: our veterans.

Our NASVH webpage serves as a resource for our membership, and also for veterans, veteran family members, and the general public. If you’re a SVH leader and a member of NASVH, you’ll find that creating an account and accessing member resources will be beneficial to your role, as will attendance at our conferences. For veteran service organizations or others that may be interested in impacting the lives of veterans at SVHs, use the directory to connect with a SVH near you. As reflected in our mission, NASVH is focused on education, networking, and advocacy – and focused on those areas to benefit the lives of those men and women who’ve worn the fabric of our nation. Nearly seventy-five years ago, SVHs got together and decided their voices to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Congress, and others were more powerful when joined together as one. SVHs leaders realized that they shared common challenges, strengths, and opportunities across state lines, and that learning and growing together was beneficial for SVHs leaders, and beneficial for the veterans they – and now we – are proud to serve. Out of those realizations, NASVH was born. We’re proud to carry on the legacy of this special organization, and to support the incredible impact SVHs have on the lives of veterans across the country.

As a Marine Corps veteran, I’m extremely grateful to get to serve as a leader in such a remarkable organization. A professional honor, to be sure, though also a personal blessing, as I get to be part of serving the SVHs that directly impact the lives of tens of thousands of my fellow veterans, every hour of every day of the year. That’s a special privilege, and one I take very graciously, and very seriously. They served us, and now SVHs are there to serve them when they need it most – and NASVH is proud to support those SVHs in that critically important mission.
